omg shoes

Someone please get me these shoes. They are green, they are awesome, I would rock them so hard, that I might end the hipster movement.

Yeah, I said it. It might end the hipster movement and bring back real style.

still in LA

So I'm still here, in LA, jobless and at the moment a bit hopeless.

SO the only answer is to write about all the cool thing that I want to do around here (ya know, other than actually having a job and working and getting paid, and yes, my happiness revolves around working)

Well, Carmageddon is over and people are back on the roads.

I've also been scouting the social group deal pages. Most recently I signed up for Living Social, Life Booker and Glit City. Now, being as I'm a lady, I took mostly to Life Booker. There was a deal on there for a Mani/Pedi Combo at Eleanor Jean. While I have yet to go, it might be the girliest place I will ever go in my life (and mind you, I took ballet as a small child).

Here are the 2 services that were offered on Life Booker:

“The Debutante” Our most popular service, cover the basics and then some! With The Debutant, you receive thorough cuticle & callous care, extended massage,an invigorating ME! Bath scrub & body icing, hot towel and your choice of natural buff or lacquer.

and

“The Heiress” For the ultimately pampering experience, opt for The Heiress! Look and feel like royalty with this scrumptious service, sister to The Debutante, experience the most lavish mani/pedi a girl can dream of. Includes cuticle perfection, an extensive callous treatment (a take home gift of Me! Bath Ice Cream Sandwich callous stone), ME! Bath’s Signature Marshmallow masque & invigorating scrub, deep tissue massage, hot plush towel, with your choice of natural lacquer or buff. Don’t forget the Champagne!

But none the less, it looks fun, and I know that it will distract me for a portion of the day. I mean, I *do* get a back rub, and I'm sure with the tasty scrubs they have listed, I'll walk away feeling just how they described.

Groupon and Living Social have added Getaways to their site, which I'm super stoked about. There are a few out to Mexico and Costa Rica. Some of them being All Inclusive Resorts. So what made me happy is you get a deal on your hotel, then get a deal on your room and board, and you're set to go!

I like that Living Social has a lot of family things to do, but seeing as I don't have children, Groupon is more up my ally.

Also, my kitty recently got micro-chipped. If you haven't done this to your pets, you should. All the Los Angeles County and surrounding areas scan for the chip. His was $20 and you had to register nation wide for $20, but that was in Florida, so I have no idea how much it costs out here. I do know that the micro chip scanners are nation wide and will detect if your pet has one.

So get your pet micro chipped!

Los Angeles!

Whew! So after 5 days of driving and 5 days of unpacking and doing things, I am in LA.

I have a bed. That I built from Ikea. I will NEVER be doing that again. We put together this guy, which came in a box with all it's pieces and parts. My hands are still sore from that adventure.

But, none the less, I have a bed.

We went out to eat at a few very cool places. One of them being the The Warehouse which I had actually already been to. I managed to choose the same place to eat 2 times in a row, the first time being in 2004 or 2005 (I can't quite remember) when me and me Father had attended the National Guitar Workshop. While I don't remember liking the place the first time we went, I quite enjoyed it this past time.

We also went to the The Palace in Los Feliz which was AMAZING. I would highly suggest it. I would go deeper into the food, but there is a much more pressing issue. Reservations. Apparently everywhere in this town needs reservations. Which kind of blows my mind. We were at Baja Cantina, and while I understand that it was the dreaded V-Day, there were plenty of tables open and wasn't a fancy/upscale place, we still had to wait. Apparently you need reservations for everything around here. But once I understand it more, I will write more about it. Till then, I just don't get it. BUT, the food was great. So you should probably go there.

Right now, me and my roommate, Adam, are off to drop off his film to his director and then go to Fry's Electronics. And hopefully find some food! More To come!

3 Days

The car is in the shop getting it's oil changed and the windshield spray cleaning things fixed. The guy at the shop didn't have a name for them either.

Sent in both my application and my father's co-sign application for an apartment.

Hopefully arranged a good get together thing for tonight.

I'm looking forward to the drive, but I am not looking forward to updating my ipod. My backup hard drive died about a month ago, leaving me only with music on my mac and a random external that I had. My 60gig ipod died about 6 months ago, I hope that it was only the battery, which I am going to get a new one soon and use a recovery program I found to *hopefully* get all my music back. What's really sad is that I lost all my photos and a lot of the art I did in school.

It's a known fact that I am not a dog person. Top reasons why I am not a dog person:
1. The "dog" smell
2. Dog farts
3. The whole, "I'M A DOG SO YOU MUST LOVE ME BECAUSE I'M A DOG! LOVE MY TONGUE IN YOUR FACE I'M A DOG!"

Today has been the day of dog farts.

Now I am going to do laundry, which seems to follow me around.

I'm going to post pictures of my loaded car and the loaded rental van. We get the van on Saturday. 4 days, across the country, with my parents. And my mom's cat cries in his sleep.
